Posted August 2019

This week, the United States Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration again featured the Transportation Learning Center’s work as a “Model in Action” on ETA’s CareerOneStop Competency Model Clearinghouse. The article, Transportation Learning Center Continues to Implement Innovations for Transportation Occupations , discusses how the Center has initiated programs to expand competency-based frameworks for transit occupation apprenticeships and training, piloted core competencies curricula with partners, and introduced adults and youth to frontline occupations in public transportation through the Center’s Transit Core Competencies curriculum (TC3.)

ETA first highlighted the Center’s work demonstrating the value of using competency-based model to prepare individuals for careers and career advancement in the transportation sector in an initial article in June of 2014. This week’s publication demonstrates how the Center continues to use and build on its competency-based work with its partners across the country.
