Thank you to everyone who attended Making Connections 2019 and helped make it a success!

Posted October 2019

On October 17, the Center held its conference, Making Connections, in Philadelphia. Over 150 frontline transit workers, trainers, and industry leaders from both labor and management came together to learn about and discuss key transit workforce topics. The plenary sessions included influential leaders that spoke on issues that matter to transit agencies and to the frontline workforce. Plenary speakers included top labor leaders, directors of innovative transit agencies, and top researchers and policy-makers.

Making Connections was an event that held space for often underrepresented transit workers to learn from and inspire each other. Attendees also had opportunities to learn from experts on new innovations and best practices in training and workforce development and how to practically implement them.
The one-day conference was held in conjunction with the annual meetings of the Transit Coach Operator and Bus Maintenance Apprenticeship Committees and the Signals Maintenance and Elevator/Escalator Training Consortia.
