Center Executive Director Lead Presenter on the Workforce Development Panel - APTA’s Rail Conference

Posted July 2015

On Tuesday June 23, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Center Executive Director Jack Clark led the presentation by the Workforce Development panel at the APTA Rail Conference.  Jack presented data on the overall challenge the industry faces in recruiting and training 126 percent of the current workforce over the next ten years and proposed a national structure of comprehensive training and apprenticeship to address the need.  The panel also included presentations from Metro North, WMATA, LACMTA and EDSI.

Joe Niegoski, APTA Director of Educational Services had this to say about the session:
“Forty attendees came to your crack-of-dawn Tuesday morning two-hour session,  another example of our members seeking insights, direction and answers to burning questions.  Your session is one that we could take on the road! Your session rocked!!!”
