Center Holds Successful First BEB Familiarization Webinar

On June 25 th , the Center held a 2-hour webinar designed to help technicians become familiar with Battery Electric Buses. This was the first in a three-part series. Participants heard from James Hall, Proterra; David Warren, New Flyer; and Kevin Hardesty, Gillig discuss the fundamentals of BEB technology, PM and diagnostics, and battery management and cooling. The webinar was attended by over 400 attendees who were able to submit questions to the presenters throughout the course.

An evaluation following the webinar revealed that 75 percent of respondents found the presentations to be very or extremely informative and useful. One participant said, “I liked the overall overview of how BEBs work and it helps me to better understand the concept of BEBs.
