Senate Conducts Hearing for the Nomination of Nuria Fernandez as FTA Administrator

On May 11, the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee met virtually to conduct a hearing for the pending nomination of Nuria Fernandez as Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). Fernandez has been serving as Deputy Administrator of the FTA since January 20, 2021. Prior to her appointment, Fernandez served as General Manager/CEO of Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) and was an active member of the Transportation Learning Center Board.
If confirmed, Fernandez would be the first Senate-confirmed woman of color to lead the FTA.
