Skills Booster Webinar – Creating Instructional Videos

Posted November 2020

The Transportation Learning Center hosted its second Skills Booster learning event for its consortium and committee members on November 10, 2020. Skills Booster webinars are opportunities for transit trainers and others to gain knowledge and explore new skills on trending technologies.

Last week’s event showcased Filmora, a video editing software that is easy to use for people who are new to video editing and do not need high-end capabilities and features. Transit trainers often need to create instructional video “on the fly” to enhance classroom content or to deploy instant or “just-in-time” learning.

Brandon Liu, one of the Center’s Instructional Systems Designers, demonstrated basic features of Filmora including importing, editing video, recording/editing audio, text and captioning, and exporting to various formats. As a benefit for our National Training Consortium members, the Transportation Learning Center is extending a limited number of free licenses for Wondershare Filmora X (Perpetual Plan), the current iteration of Filmora software. Please request a free license by December 4, 2020 by filling out this online form. In addition, all Center partner organizations (consortium and apprenticeship committee members) can qualify for a deeply discounted price for volume license purchases. We have the details in the guide you can download here.

The Center encourages each transit organization to complete only one form for all its needs across departments. Follow this link to complete the form: https://survey.alchemer.com/collab/5995954/Filmora-License-Request-Form
