Skills Booster Webinar – Preparing for and Capturing Video Footage for Instructional Video

Posted March 2021

The Transportation Learning Center hosted its third Skills Booster learning event for its consortium and committee members on March 9, 2021. Skills Booster webinars are opportunities for transit trainers and others to gain knowledge and develop new skills in trending technologies.

Transit trainers often need to create instructional video to enhance classroom content or to deploy instant or “just-in-time” learning. Last week’s event featured a presentation from Center videography expert, Kenyon Corbett, on how to capture instructional video to enhance current training methods. This session engaged participants with an interactive discussion using real world examples to demonstrate the Do’s and Don’ts of capturing video and audio for instructional videos.

Follow-up resources to registrants included a recording of the video as well as:

Job Aid – Quick Reference Sheet
Storyboard Templates – both short and detailed
Example equipment list for those that need help getting started
