Leaders of US industries and national policy makers are increasingly embracing modern apprenticeship as the most effective solution to urgent challenges facing the US workforce:  On the one hand, employers such as transit agencies can’t find enough young workers with technical skills, leading to vacancies and hiring of retirees from other careers.

Join the Transportation Learning Center at the Good Jobs Green Jobs Conference -February 10-11, 2013

At this year’s Good Jobs Green Jobs Conference, The Center will be part of a panel entitled Getting on Track Together: Creating Pathways to Transit and Transportation Careers for Community Members.  Transit agencies face a critical frontline technical workforce shortage in the coming decade, with transit services expanding rapidly and fifty percent of the frontline workforce retiring.

Center Instructional Designer Melissa Huber Recognized by UMBC Graduate Program

On Wednesday October 23, 2013 Melisa Huber was awarded the Dr. Cook award for best graduate student in the ISD program at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).  This annual award is presented to an outstanding student who has demonstrated academic excellence, service and entrepreneurship.
